El Grupo Youth Cycling is hosting a fundraising ride this fall to help raise money for the organization.
The ride is will take place on Nov. 16 and offer a 40 and 80 mile distances.
El Grupo director Daniela Diamente said a fondo isn’t about winning, but about enjoying the ride and the course highlights some of the best cycling in Tucson.
“We haven’t had a ride as a fundraiser,” she said. It’s non-competitive, a nice course, with good food out on it.”
The entry is $100 and the ride is capped at 250 participants.
“We want it to be small and intimate,” Diamente said. “Our hope it becomes a annual thing.”
Because so many organizations have contributed to the ride almost the entire entry fee will go to getting more kids on bikes.
Participants will get a swag bag, t-shirt, food along the route as well as food and beer at the after party.
