Tucson’s own Transit Cycles won the 2014 Interbike award for the best Urban/Lifestyle bike shop.

Transit Cycles was nominated and last month fans of the nominees were able to vote for their favorite shop.

The award was presented to Transit Cycles owners Duncan Benning and his wife Rebecca Zapien at Interbike on Thursday night.

Reached by text in Las Vegas, Benning said he was thrilled and thankful.

“Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote,” he said. “Without the Tucson community this wouldn’t have happened. I think I said something about a party if we won…”
