I think a tour de Arizona would be the most talked about tour out there.
For example From Clifton Arizona to the Blue ridge on route 191 (70 miles) you climb 10,549 feet. Its all 25 mph and barely any traffic expect for sunday.
Scottsdale to Strawberry 100 miles ish and another 10,000 feet.
Oh for some fun send them to salt river canyon where they can enjoy a five mile drop and climb.

I’ve got an email into the organizer to see just how realistic this is.

More important news from that evil Red Star!
ecovelo mentions bikes and trains (Amtrak) today…what a concept…train from the Old Pueblo over to the coast and then cycle…
But there are details:
Bring Your Bicycle Onboard

Perhaps we’ll learn just how realistic this is.

I’ve bicycled through all 50 of the United States. As a woman. And, for most of my travels, I went solo.
So, you might think that I’d be jumping up and down, yelling and hollering for woman-friendly bicycle facilities. But I’m not.
Why not? Because the cost of building such facilities would be enormous. To the point of being cost-prohibitive in many parts of this country.
Furthermore, there’s something that can be done about this supposed fear that women have of riding on the road. It’s called training in vehicular cycling. I took that training back in 1979-80. I’ve lost count of the number of times it saved me when I was on the highways and byways of America.

That’s interesting, Martha, because females
are refered to as the ‘indicator gender’ as far
as the safety gauge to measure the attractiveness
of bicycle facilities. You’re right: cheaper and more
effective to train (educate) than build a thing that
likely won’t be used. Safer in the long run, too.
