The downtown subcommittee of the Tucson Pima County Bicycle Advisory Committee will lead a bike ride along Church Avenue on Sept. 14 at 3:30 p.m. to discuss a proposed road diet.
The subcommittee will meet at the patio of the Public Works building and ride the entire stretch of Church Avenue.
Members of the group believe a road diet, which eliminates a lane or two of traffic for cars in order to add bike facilities, may be possible on Church because of low traffic volumes.
The field ride is open to the public and they encourage interested parties to attend.
The Public Works building is located at 201. N. Stone Ave.
Changing the timing on the stop lights would be just as helpful as adding bike lanes.
I thought I’ll post this info so they can find them easily than go inside and ask where are they… đ
The DOWNTOWN / UNIVERSITY BICYCLE SUBCOMMITTEE will conduct a meeting at 3:30 P.M., TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2010 in the patio of THE PUBLIC WORKS BUILDING, of 201 N. STONE AVE., Tucson, Arizona. Look for members in the courtyard off of Council Street.
Hope that helps…
