I’ve been experimenting with Google Fusion and KML shape files for the last couple days at work. Of course I wanted to do something related to bikes so I decided to visualize where Tucson and Arizona’s bike commuters live.

To do it I combined the American Community Survey’s five year bicycle commuter data with both the counties in the Arizona and the census tracts in Pima County. The maps are below for you to check out.

The most interesting data point was that Pima County is not not county with the highest bicycle commuter share. It turns out Coconino County has a higher percentage of it’s residents bicycling to work.
