WOW, interesting links today. The five-city utility post has really good comments on the subject. These are all pretty finely honed bikes locked in to what they offer with seemly little room for user adaptability. Too much sport riding geometry to be compatible with true utility. It just takes more than one bike. Portland bike looks the coolest, but why is the woman wearing a backpack if the bike has a rear rack?
Utility in this market would have to include electric assist. Any other ‘must have’ suggestions?
Are we going to redesign the city or adapt the infrastructure?
