More than 25 businesses have filled out requests to take advantage of the City of Tucson’s free bike parking program.

Tucson bicycle and pedestrian program manager Ann Chanecka said in most cases the business was alerted to the program by a customer who wanted the business to provide bike parking.

Chanecka said some of the businesses are on the city right of way so they will provide the crews for installation. The others will have to pay to have the racks installed themselves after she approves the rack location.

The program was launched a month ago and Chanecka said she has been pleased with the response so far.
