A support vehicle following a group of cyclists was ticketed for impeding traffic last month.
Tucson Police Department officer Jerry Skeenes told the Tucson-Pima County Bicycle Advisory Committee about the incident at its meeting last Wednesday, draft minutes show.
According to the minutes, Skeenes told the BAC that the the city worked with the group to get a permit for the car.
Skeenes told the BAC that, among other things, the car must have a flashing yellow light and not back up more than 10 vehicles.
Editor’s note: I have an email in to Skeenes requesting more information about the incident.
Platinum application submitted this week
Pima Association of Government’s Ann Chanecka told the BAC she will submit the region’s Bicycle Friendly application to the League of American Bicyclists this week.
