As a homeowner near the U of A, just north of campus, I am very please to report that more bike riders are using lights this year.  It is very dark in this part of the city at night and it is very hard to see people riding by – whether on their bike or skateboard.  I do not want to hit anyone with my car!  Therefore, we very much appreciate the lights on the bikes!  My son quipped that we are seeing more bikes with lights this year “because school just opened and the lights haven’t been stolen yet”.  I hope it is really because the riders are becoming more safety conscious!
